Protect Transgender Students in Colt's Neck -- Change in Location

  • Paid for by Little Silver Democratic Club (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Note change in location!

The Colt’s Neck Board of Education is scheduling a final vote on a revised policy that would require teachers to effectively out transgender students to their families. This new policy is the opposite of the state’s policy and could draw a civil complaint from Attorney General Platkin, similar to the one against Hanover Township. A Superior Court judge issued an injunction blocking the district from implementing the policy. Any support by simply attending these meetings, even if the policy changes are likely to be adopted, would be so helpful.

Location: Cedar Drive Middle School, Colt’s Neck, but check possible changes.

Protect Transgender Students in Middletown and Marlboro

The Middletown Board of Education is in the process adopting policies that target transgender students by requiring teachers to effectively out them to their families, put “parents’ rights” above the safety of students, and are at odds with NJDOE standards (developed with experts through a great deal of time and thoughtfulness), opening the district to lawsuits. Any support for simply attending this, even if the policy changes are likely to be adopted, would be so helpful.

The Marlboro Board of Education is also in the process of adopting similar restrictions. Their Board of Education Meeting is at 7:00 PM at Marlboro Memorial Middle School.

Join us for our NJ Wind Works Rally: Harnessing the Wind for a Lasting Renewable Future on Saturday June 3rd, 2023 in Asbury Park, NJ.

The climate crisis is putting our oceans and NJ communities in danger, and one of the best ways we can fight climate change is through the equitable and safe development of renewable energy, including offshore wind projects. Responsible offshore wind energy projects can spur economic development, create jobs in coastal communities, improve energy security, and cut climate-destabilizing pollution. But to protect their own interests, the fossil fuel industry is doing everything it can to delay the development of offshore wind–including spreading misinformation about offshore wind to stall our transition to clean energy.

We need a clean energy transition NOW and offshore wind is NJ’s best defense against climate change. We need YOU to make your voice heard in support of offshore wind and a clean energy and safe climate future for NJ. Bring friends, family, activists, and neighbors and come out to NJ Wind Works Rally: Harnessing the Wind for a Lasting Renewable Future on Saturday June 3rd! Environmental and academic organizations will be present for folks to learn more and ask questions, including the NJ Sierra Club, NJ League of Conservation Voters, Pinelands Preservation Alliance, ANJEC, GreenFaith, and more.
