Dear fellow advocates for NJ children:

I am writing to share my strong concerns about the proposed transition of mental health services to students in our schools that is planned by DCF, known as NJ4S. Not only does the proposed plan likely offer more harm than help to our students and their families, but it seems an inefficient use of monetary resources in this domain.

Here in NJ, abortion remains legal, but that might not always be the case.

Already, Republicans are pushing for a nationwide ban on abortion that would supersede state law and put lives at risk right here in our backyard.

It's not just abortion that is at stake–it's same-sex relationships and same-sex marriage. It's the right to contraception. All of these hard-fought rights–and many others–are at stake.

There are several things we can do RIGHT NOW to ensure that abortion in NJ remains safe and legal.

Firstly, it is key that Democrats maintain control of Congress. Sign up here to volunteer to help pro-choice Democrats win. If we lose Congress, we stand to lose everything.

Second, donate directly to abortion funds that help ensure access to safe abortions.

Thirdly, call your legislators and tell them where you stand. They need to hear from YOU. Find your state legislator here.

Finally, make sure to breathe. We are in for a long fight, and we need to stay strong and focused to combat Republicans who aim to send us back to the 1950s. Take a breath but keep fighting.

Together, we can stop Republicans in their tracks.

Congressman Chris Smith let us down again when he voted against the American Rescue Plan, President Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill. …So, when you get your stimulus payment and child tax credit, when your extra unemployment money, rental, or food assistance keeps your family going, when your municipal government is fully operational, when your schools, police, and fire departments don’t have to lay anyone off, or when your favorite local business stays afloat, remember that Chris Smith cared more about controlling a woman’s body than helping us through this unprecedented time of challenge.

Does Congressman Smith, the Monmouth County Commissioners, Senator O’Scanlon and Assemblyman Scharfenberger and Assemblywoman DiMaso believe the fabrications of the former President and his D.C. enablers. If they don’t believe in the results of the Presidential election why should we believe they will accept any election results. These elected officials must answer this question: do they believe that voters decide who gets elected in America? If they answer yes they must openly say that and denounce the “Big Lie” even if many Republican voters don’t want to hear that.
